Neil Rosser just told me that John Smiley has put his PhD thesis
(1978) and assorted early publications and unpublished works online.
John worked on Heliconius ecology 1973-1976 in Costa Rica. An
important unpublished part of his thesis work showed that mimicry in
Heliconius cydno and H. melpomene in La Selva field Station, Costa
Rica, were segregated by habitat. It's in Chapter 2 of the PhD thesis.
