Hello Padraig:

Thank you for your response. Sorry for the late response.

The specific issues are:

- When I first installed neuroConstruct a few months ago, it worked fine, especially the Visualization tab.

- I tried to use neuroConstruct the other day after not using it for a few months and I could not visualize any neuron structure I set up. When I looked at the error messages, it appeared there was something wrong with its communication with Java. The first error message said something about there being no GUI.

- I installed a newer version of neuroConstruct (1.5.3; I was previously using 1.5.2) and had the same issues.

-I updated my Java compiler from 1.6 to 1.7 and now neuroConstruct will not even load.

If you can help me with this issue, I would appreciate it. Also, I am using Ubuntu as my OS.

Thanks!

Natasha

On Thu, Jun 7, 2012 at 5:22 AM, P Gleeson <p.gleeson@ucl.ac.uk> wrote:

Hi Natasha,

Yes, neuroConstruct should certainly work with Java 1.7. What are
the specific issues? Which OS are you using and which version of
neuroConstruct?

Recompiling the code (by deleting the classes directory and running
'nC.bat -make' or './nC.sh -make') may help. See also here:
